Magikland is the first theme park in the Visayas located in Silay City. This amusement park is an added upgrade to the already renowned historic city of Silay. When you come to visit the the Magikland, it offers another spectrum of fun and adventure. It's a magical destination for the young and dreamy, a place where fun, thrill, and laughter are limitless. It's for children and children at heart.

Magikland was designed to highlight Negrense's heritage, as seen in the theme park's cultural section. The Magikland's storybook characters are based on local myths. Bakunawa, the moon-eating dragon from Negrense folklore, is the theme park's main poster icon, alongside Mara Marapara, Pat Patag, Boy Bakunawa, and Kit Kanlaon. They form part of a cast that serves as the caretakers of Magikland.

“You'd like to meet them as you stroll through the first Filipino-themed park, or perhaps after the musical play, in which the cast sings and dances as they welcome visitors with the amusement park's live story line presentation.”

It's like the Philippine version of Disneyland, complete with a welcome live show introducing the characters and an after-show meet and greet. The theme park is divided into three zones: cultural, mystical, and magical, each with its own representation of what Magikland has to offer. The pride of Negrense, new adventure rides, and more outdoor fun.

Haven Place for Children

For me, it is a new haven for children, a place where they can get a different taste of merriment and child's play than the local "peryahan" (moving funfair). An improvement on the usual children's park on the city plaza, as well as another location that is proudly "Tatak Negrense." The park will initially house 12 rides, with plans for additional zones, commercial establishments, residential areas, and a theater.

What to Expect

The Magikland's main attractions include the Crazy Trail, Disk'O, Crazy Surf, Family Swinger, and the 27-meter Sky Tower rides for thrill seekers. For those fresh starter, you can try their magical zone that offers the Happy Swing, Trackless Train, Mt. Kanlaon canoes, Magic Bike and bumper car rides for kids. The tallest Ferris Wheel ever built in Western Visayas is among the attraction inside the park. All the rides are designed and built according to the maximum possible international standards and regulations in amusement industry.

How To Get There

Magikland can be found in Brgy. Silay City, Guinhalaran Coming from Bacolod, that is one of the first communities you will see as you enter Silay. Just before the entrance, there is a large billboard advertising Magikland. The site is about 300 meters from the main highway and can be easily found if you ask locals for directions.

If you’re commuting, ask the driver to drop you at “Bangga Carmela” at Magikland and they will lead you through the entrance. Pedicab fare going into the site is PHP 10.00 only. From SM City Bacolod, you could ride a van that offers direct trip to Magikland. Fare per person is PHP 70.00 only

Final Thoughts

It gives me great pride as a Negrense to have visited and enjoyed another pioneer innovation in the tourism and real estate industries in my home province of Negros. It's one example of how you can contribute to the world without straying too far from your roots. Patag is a well-known Silay highland destination, Kanlaon is the province's active volcano, Marapara is a well-known mountain peak, and Bakunawa is part of our folklore. Aside from the technical assets powering the amusement park's rides, the highly energetic crew, instagrammable spots, and up to the crisp audio visual displays, I am blown away by the creative ingenuity of incorporating Negros as a whole into the theme park's core.
